16th International Conference on Experimental Mechanics 7 - 11 July 2014, Cambridge, UK For more information please check out the Conference Website.
Organised by The Institute of Physics.
Inert, Reactive and Biological Materials behave very differently at different rates of loading, pressure, energy densities and temperature. In many cases the simple linear relations found in many introductory texts and academic courses are no longer obeyed. Commonly understood properties, (such as strength), vary dramatically with these parameters. The overlap between these seemingly diverse areas is provided by the theoretical understanding of material properties and the use of appropriate loading conditions and diagnostics. The function of this 3-day conference is to bring together interested scientists, researchers and students to present their recent research in this multidisciplinary area and discuss with colleagues in the same or adjoining research fields.
